DHI Hair Transplant

Hair transplant surgery is a surgical procedure that aims to solve the problem of hair loss and involves transplanting hair follicles from the donor area, usually the back of the scalp, into a bald or thinning area. Each follicle contains between one and four hairs, sometimes even more than four if you are lucky enough, and the transplanted follicles continue to grow new hair in their new location.

How is DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) Hair Transplant Surgery Performed?

There are 2 different methods that are commonly used when it comes to hair transplant surgery. One of the methods is called “FUE” and the other is called “DHI”. Both of these hair transplant surgeries have their own methods and are suitable for different hair loss problems.

What is the DHI Method?

The Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) method is a minimally invasive hair transplant surgery method that has gained popularity in recent years. Unlike traditional Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) techniques, which involve the extraction and storage of hair follicles prior to implantation, DHI implants follicles directly from the donor area into the recipient area. This eliminates the need for a separate storage phase, potentially improving graft survival and minimizing trauma to the follicles.

In the DHI method, the entire hair does not need to be shaved, only the donor area is shaved and should be considered as a tightening of the current state of the hair. The DHI method is more suitable for people over 35 years of age with limited hair loss, rather than complete loss of a specific area.
